Cultural Heritage Tour

Day 1

Be met at airport by your guide. Transfer to a beach hotel in Negombo , visit a nearby fishing village or spend the day at leisure on the beach . Overnight stay in Negombo.

Day 2
Sigiriya - Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage

After breakfast, proceed to Sigiriya - en route take a short break at Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. At this orphanage there are elephants of all ages that have been abandoned or orphaned, but the unique feature of this visit is that you can feed the baby elephants with milk bottles during their feeding times. After lunch, visit the renowned Rock Fortress of Sigiriya, which tells a tale of power, intrigue and tragedy.

Day 3
Anuradhapura - Isurumuniya Rock Temple

Leave for Anuradhapura after breakfast. It was the first capital of Sri Lanka in the 3rd Century B.C. and it has been declared a World Heritage Site. Visit Sri Maha Bodhi, the oldest historically documented tree in the world, the Brazen Palace, Dagobas, Ruwanwelisaya, Abeygiri & Jetawana Monasteries, finely preserved rock-cut statues of Lord Buddha and ruins of palaces, Isurumuniya rock temple. Spend overnight at Anuradhapura.

Day 4
Kandy - Dambulla

Leave for Kandy via Dambulla. See the Golden Rock, a cave temple which dates back to the 1st Century B.C. From Dambulla drive to Matale to visit a spice garden. In Kandy, visit the Temple of the Tooth. View a cultural dance. Dinner and spend overnight at Kandy.

Day 5
Peradeniya Botanical Gardens

After early breakfast, Leave for Colombo or the airport. En route, visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, which is famed for its orchids.
